WASHINGTON DC (AFA Newswire) The "Defense of Adultery Act" was introduced on the floor of the Senate today.
According to its sponsor, Louisiana Senator and D.C. Madam-client David Vitter, the bill decrees that, "If an extramarital liaison is strictly heterosexual, it should be pretty much okay and not the sort of thing a whole career ought to get wrecked over."
Citing Biblical precedent, Vitter spoke passionately, stating, "So many great figures of the Bible were getting a little on the side, and while God clearly knew all about it, so long as it was between a man and a woman, he did not smite them," concluding, as fellow senators nodded in agreement, "Who are we, then, to judge if even God doesn't care?"
At one point, the chambers' sergeant-at-arms had to call for order after giggling broke out at the request for an "Up or Down" vote.
